Welcome

Hello, I'm Lajla and I'd like to welcome you to 16.avania.co.uk, my somewhat personal site on the Avania.co.uk Network.

Fanlisting and clique owners: fanlistings and cliques.

13. october 2008 - Minor changes

The header image has been moved 20px down, and I've changed a few things to make it fit more streamlined with the background image.
I've re-opened Sunshine Superman, my fanlisting collective. I also added it to the collective page. Speaking of new sites, I'm currently working on a lifestyle and dieting blog. Nothing to do with eating disorders though, in case someone thinks it's "pro-ana" or something similar.

8. october 2008 - My stomach hurts :(

I used the Internet Archive Wayback Machine to find mirrors of two of my old websites (Portman Online and James McAvoy Web), and take screenshots of the most complete layout mirrors I could find. So instead of pictures of NP and JM, there are now screenshots of the actual websites up at the collective page.
I opened a fanlisting for Tom Waits today. I got approved in the actors category about a week ago, and I just got approved in musicians: male category yesterday. If you're a fan of Tom Waits, then I really think you should join the fanlisting:

I also applied for Ernest Hemingway and Richard Coyle. Hopefully I'll get approved.

21. september 2008 - Some updated pages

I finished the list of my book collection (for now, at least). I also updated owner (now with pictures :P), favourites (joined several fanlistings) as well as added quite a few livejournal icons. I suspect that joining all the fanlistings that I need to join will take a very long time. I'm on my second day, and I've only completed actors, actresses, music genres and composers, and cracked bands and musicians.

7. september 2008 - New layout

I spent quite a few hours yesterday and today working on the site. I started out with a completely different layout and colourscheme (with rotating header images), but ended up with this result. It's okay, not my best, but not my worst either. There are still some things I'm displeased with, and I'll probably change them. I don't have much else to say, so I'll just conclude this update.

24. august 2008 - Finding a job is quite difficult

I spent nearly all day yesterday working on my CV. It's okay right now, but someone who knows, how it's supposed to look like when done perfectly, needs to have a look at it. I think I might ask one of my teachers at school tomorrow. Speaking of school, I am currently studying at a Business College, and I'll be done this January. Afterwards I'll need 2 years of work experience in a company, and that's where I need job searching experience. I've only had one job in my entire life, and even though the unemployment in this country has hit an all time low, and companies are importing workforce, it's still difficult to find a job. They have too high expectations, one of them being that you should have had infinite work experience. Doesn't matter how old you are (I'm 19), your CV should be the length of Tolstoy's War and Peace. It's crazy. On a sidenote, I got accepted into the Royal Danish Army, so yay for me. I'll be doing 4 months there starting either February 2009 or August 2009. I'll maybe choose to apply for Private (rank) school (or however I'm supposed to phrase that in English), when I'm done with my business degree. But that's quite a few years into the future. Here's hoping that we won't be involved in any hostile situations, if and when I decide to spend a year and a half as a professional soldier. I think my mother would be much calmer, if she knew that I'd only be involved in peacekeeping, and not active fighting, although the fighting as a communications "person" is quite limited.
I think I spend too much money on DVDs. I've got almost a hundred of them. But I really like movies, and besides I don't spend much money on a lot of other things. I buy a lot of DVDs and books, and that's pretty much it. I only buy clothing on sale, and I very rarely buy any beauty products (I only buy shampoo, conditioner, etc. when I run out). I don't know why I just typed that paragraph, I guess I'm just being random (as usual). Anyway, I'll run off now. Bye! ^_^
